Emergency services have confirmed the favorable evolution of the fire, which has allowed the situation to be lowered to level 1 of the forest fire plan. The Minister of Emergencies and Interior, Juan Carlos Valderrama, specified that the final affected area is 754 hectares, of which 617 are forest land, distributed between the municipalities of Tírig (404 hectares) and Catí (350 hectares).
Valderrama highlighted the intense work and the "collaboration and coordination" among the different teams. The de-escalation of resources, including those from the Ministry, occurs due to the absence of "hot spots," as indicated by the chief sub-inspector of the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Castellón, Antonio Rodrigo.
Extinguishing work will continue, but the safety of the responders will be prioritized given the forecast of wind gusts of 80-90 km/h for the afternoon. The Castellón Provincial Council has requested prudence from the public and to follow the indications of the Civil Guard, recommending not to approach the fire perimeter.
