The project, which received a subsidy of 301,644 euros from the Conselleria de Serveis Socials, Família i Infància (Ministry of Social Services, Family and Childhood), involved the rehabilitation and adaptation of an existing municipal building. The new center is designed as a space for attention, companionship, and community, where seniors can receive basic care support and participate in activities to promote their autonomy and well-being.
The facilities will be dedicated to active aging activities, fostering healthy habits, socialization, and dependency prevention, while also offering a new meeting and participation space for the elderly residents of Culla.
The launch of this service marks a significant step for the municipality, enabling seniors to access care and support services locally, promoting their ability to remain in their usual environment and avoiding the need for travel to other towns.
The project is complemented by a second grant of 96,144.33 euros, allocated for equipping the new day center with furniture, computer equipment, and other necessary items. In total, the subsidies amount to 397,788.33 euros.
Through this initiative, the Culla City Council strengthens public services for seniors and continues to work towards improving the quality of life for its residents, promoting active aging, and ensuring seniors can remain in their municipality with accessible, high-quality care services.
