The project involves reconstructing with dry stone the sections of the wall that collapsed during the storm. The intervention is supported by a subsidy from the Spanish Government, processed through the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory.
The justification report estimates the repair cost at 8,000 euros, including VAT. The Sant Roc path is one of the spaces linked to the history and traditions of Benassal, as it leads to the homonymous hermitage.
The Sant Roc hermitage, originally built in 1557 during a plague epidemic, was blessed on August 16, 1559, the feast day of Sant Roc. It continues to be a reference point for celebrations dedicated to the patron saint.
With this repair, the City Council is progressing in recovering from the storm damage in this area and is committed to maintaining the traditional dry stone technique.
