During the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years, a total of 1,711 reductions were registered on waste bills in Alcoy thanks to 'Tarifa B', a special bonification aimed at low-income families and individuals over 65. The total fiscal benefit accumulated over these two years amounts to 128,970.93 euros.
Specifically, 896 households were approved for the bonification in 2025, with a fiscal benefit of 60,551.68 euros, while in 2026, 815 households benefited, totaling 68,419.25 euros. The Councilor for Finance, Vanessa Moltó, highlighted the importance of maintaining these aids to protect the most vulnerable sectors of the city.
The measure is automatically applied to those over 65 who meet the requirements, benefiting 607 families in 2025 and 599 in 2026. Additionally, 289 new applications were approved in 2025 and 256 in 2026. The amount paid by beneficiaries for 'Tarifa B' stands at 44,405.76 euros and 31,100.40 euros, respectively.
The deadline to apply for this 'Tarifa B' is open until September 30th. There is also a bonification for those participating in organic waste separation, with an application period open year-round.
