The Department of Commerce of Alcoi has announced the launch of aid programs to boost commercial entrepreneurship, aiming to support new establishments and the continuity of existing businesses.

The call for applications is divided into two main lines. The first is aimed at opening new retail establishments for companies created since January 1st of this year. The second will focus on generational succession and business transmission, facilitating the continuation of established businesses when ownership changes.
This aid can cover up to 80% of eligible investments and expenses, with a maximum of 2,000 euros per establishment. Supported activities include renovation works, installations, furniture, IT equipment, website creation, commercial branding, window displays, and signage, among other investments related to launching, transferring, or improving businesses.
Furthermore, a specific incentive is included to promote the use of the Valencian language in local commerce. Establishments with permanent commercial signage written in Valencian can receive an additional 300 euros, bringing the total aid to 2,300 euros per establishment.
The program has a total budget of 50,000 euros. The application period is open from September 9th to October 6th. Applications can be submitted through the Electronic Office of the City Council.

"Local commerce is a fundamental part of Alcoi's life, and we want it to remain so. Investing in proximity commerce means investing in a more vibrant city, with more active streets and a diverse, high-quality commercial offering."
