The exhibition, titled "Architecture of Alicante at the turn of the century: José Guardiola Picó, Timoteo Briet Montaud and Marceliano Coquillat Llofriu", was presented today by the Councilor for Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Lorena Zamorano, and the representative for the Territorial College of Architects of Alicante in Alcoi, Loli Moltó. This project is part of Architecture Week 2026 and the Alcoi Modernist Fair program, aiming to promote historical architecture beyond academic circles.
The initiative brings together blueprints, historical photographs, and archival documentation illustrating the transformation of Alcoi and other towns between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Timoteo Briet stands out as a key figure in the city, with a recognizable style characterized by sobriety and geometry, fundamental to understanding industrial and modernist Alcoi.
The exhibition will be open to the public until the end of October at the Mario Silvestre Cultural Center. As a complement, on September 30th at 12:00 PM, the curators will give a lecture on the subject at the same center.
