The Sala Àgora will be the venue tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:30 PM, for the official reception of Alcoy athletes who have achieved podium finishes in national and international events during the 25/26 campaign. The City Corporation will honor a total of 71 local athletes, of whom 40 are women and 31 are men. This figure highlights the high level of grassroots and elite sports in the city, as well as the growth in participation and victories for local women's sports.
During the past sporting season, these athletes have secured 71 podiums, including 63 medals in national championships and 8 in international events across various disciplines. The official reception aims to recognize the effort, perseverance, and daily work of the athletes, their clubs, and their families, who proudly represent Alcoy in competitive arenas and invigorate the city's social life.
The Councilor for Sports, Alberto Belda, has praised the immense work of Alcoy's sports community and emphasized the direct impact these results have on the city's well-being.
