Castalla thus joins over 600 municipalities nationwide already using this citizen participation tool. The aim is to improve the identification of needs and the council's response capacity to damages detected in the town.
The Councilor for Public Services and Urban Maintenance, Álvaro Martínez, highlighted that the tool facilitates "close and direct" communication with citizens, offering a simple way to report incidents and improve municipal efficiency.
To use the service, users must download the Línea Verde app for free from Google Play or the App Store. Once installed, the user selects the municipality, accesses the "New Incident" button, chooses the type, and attaches a photo and observation. The app automatically detects the coordinates of the damage and sends a notification to the City Council staff, who initiate the resolution process. Citizens receive updates on the status of their incident.
Martínez emphasized that the application offers a "more direct and up-to-date view" of maintenance needs, and thanked citizens for their collaboration in acting in an "organized and effective" manner.
In addition to reporting damages, Línea Verde allows for environmental queries, with responses from experts within a maximum of 24 hours. Users can also request home pick-ups for furniture and old belongings, and receive real-time informational communications from the City Council.
The service is also available by phone at 902 193 768, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (call cost €0.07/min). The City Council encourages citizens to use this tool to achieve a municipality that meets the social well-being expectations of its residents.
