The Alcoy City Council participated in the National Congress of Tutor Agents, held on October 15 and 16 at the Palau de la Música in Valencia. Tutor agent of the Local Police, Miguel Ángel Verdú Bouzas, delivered a presentation on municipal initiatives for the prevention and protection of children and adolescents in grassroots sports.
The Alcoy delegation, which also included inspector José María Luque and tutor agents Miguel Ángel Verdú and Ignacio Sedano, shared the preventive work model being developed by the Tutor Agent unit. This plan includes training for sports entities and the figure of a protection delegate, in accordance with the Organic Law on Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents against Violence (LOPIVI).
The protocol aims to establish a shared framework for sports entities, with action guidelines to prevent violence, detect risks, and ensure a safe sports environment for children and adolescents. Councilor for Security, Raül Llopis, emphasized the importance of extending prevention to all spaces where minors spend their time.
The Alcoy Tutor Agent unit, active since 2024, specializes in minor protection, school environment prevention, and mediation. During 2025, it assisted 422 minors and managed 356 cases, in addition to conducting 927 interviews and 313 joint operations. It also delivered 36 workshops in educational centers.
Participation in the congress also allowed for the promotion of other unit initiatives, such as prevention and care in child and adolescent mental health. Tutor agent Miguel Ángel Verdú Bouzas highlighted the value of learning from other initiatives and continuing to advance in grassroots sports prevention.
