The Alcoy City Council has published the tender for the renewal of the athletics track surface at the Municipal Francisco Laporta Sports Centre, an action budgeted at 222,006.36 euros.

The project, proposed in the 2024 Participatory Budgets, will contribute to enhancing the safety and usability conditions of a sports facility used by both clubs and individual athletes. The tender was published on Friday, October 16th, and the deadline for submitting offers is November 6th, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Once awarded, the contracting company will have two months to carry out the work.
The intervention will focus on an approximate area of 4,227 square meters to repair the deterioration accumulated due to continuous use and exposure to weather conditions, and to restore adequate conditions for sports practice. The project includes the superficial renewal of the synthetic surface and the sports marking of the track's six lanes, as well as the repair of cracks, potholes, and other surface irregularities. It also includes quality checks and necessary work for the track's homologation by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).
