The competition, organized by Club Atletisme Alcoi in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Alcoi City Council, will take place in the morning, between 9 AM and 2 PM. The main novelty this year is the relocation of the event from the Francisco Laporta Municipal Sports Center to the new cross-country circuit at La Safranera, situated next to the approved BMX circuit.
This sporting event will also be part of the Valencian Community Athletics Federation's (FACV) Autonomous Cross Country Circuit and will host the Provincial Federated Team Championship. The day will bring together athletes of various ages and levels, with federated races and promotion races as part of the 45th Valencian Community Sports Games for the 2026-2027 season.
The program includes 22 promotion categories with distances adapted to the participants' ages. The competition will commence at 9 AM with a popular 5.15-kilometer race, open to individuals over 18 years old who are not federated. Registrations for this category can be completed at www.multiesport.com for a fee of 3 euros.
The Cross Ciutat d’Alcoi is a significant event on the local athletics calendar, combining high-level competition with youth sports promotion. This year, the popular race will be the eleventh scoring event of CursAlcoi, the Alcoi Race League, which groups the city's main popular races.
With this new edition, Alcoi brings together federated and popular athletics in a day to enjoy cross-country running in a renewed environment, with La Safranera as the new venue.
