The forest fire declared last Friday in Llucena, in the L'Alcalatén region, was brought under control this Sunday, according to confirmations from the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Castellón and the Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Center.

The fire, initially located in Villahermosa del Río and later moved to Llucena, has been isolated and its spread halted, firefighters reported. The situation was declared stable on Friday night thanks to the extinction efforts of air and ground crews.
The area's challenging terrain and dense forest mass complicated access and firefighting tasks. Despite this, the fire was brought under control on the third day, having shown a favorable evolution since Friday. Air resources were withdrawn at dusk on Friday, while the ground operation continued.
On Friday, other fires were also declared in Castellón towns such as Cirat and Montanejos, which are now under control. According to the Consortium, these fires were a consequence of storms and lightning strikes.
For Sunday, the pre-emergency level for forest fire risk is high (orange) in southern Alicante and inland Valencia and Castellón. In the rest of the Valencian Community, the risk is low-medium (green).
