The main events began at the parish temple with a solemn mass. During the celebration, the constant collaboration between the Figueroles City Council and the parish community was recognized, highlighting the importance of preserving local heritage within the framework of the town's 300-year history.
One of the most anticipated moments was the Plantà de l'Arc of Saint Matthew, a custom dating back to the 16th century. In this ceremony, neighbors offer the patron saint the best products from the orchards in front of the church facade to ask for protection against adverse weather conditions.
The day continued with a procession through the town's streets, accompanied by the sound of the dulzaina, and a brotherhood meal that brought together more than a hundred people. The celebrations will continue in the coming days with events dedicated to the Sacred Relics and a cultural conference at the Casa de la Cultura.
