The Mutxamel City Council has prepared an extensive program to commemorate November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with activities extending until December 10.

The initiative, driven by the Equality Department in collaboration with other municipal areas, includes cross-cutting proposals focused on prevention, education in equality, and identification of violent behaviors. Actions will take place in educational centers, youth spaces, sports facilities, shops, and municipal buildings.
The institutional event will be held on November 25 at 12:00 PM, at the City Council doors, with the reading of a manifesto against gender violence open to all citizens. The Councilor for Equality, Estefanía Moreno Cortés, has highlighted the municipal commitment to preventing sexist violence and building an egalitarian society, emphasizing the importance of continuous work and awareness-raising across different areas and age groups.
The program places special emphasis on young people, with activities such as the talk “Myths of Romantic Love. Building Healthy Relationships” on November 16 and “Affection and Sexuality: It Happens on Social Media Too” on November 17, both at the Youth House. Participatory workshops such as “Personalize your tote bag for November 25” (November 23) and “Prepare your banner for November 25” (November 24) have also been organized.
Other proposals include emotional well-being workshops through exercise at the Senior Citizens' Center on Fridays in November, a storytelling session for the Children's-Youth Library on November 25, and sports activities such as the chess simultaneous “Checkmate gender violence” on November 7 on Valencia's Gran Vía promenade, and a self-defense workshop for women on November 14 at the Els Oms Municipal Sports Center.
The campaign will also reach local businesses through an initiative involving shop participation and the placement of QR codes with prevention information and resources. The mayor of Mutxamel, Rafael García Berenguer, has highlighted the municipal involvement in conveying the message to all of society, emphasizing prevention through education and offering role models for building relationships based on respect.
The program will conclude on December 10 with the talk “Cibersegur@s” at the José Bernabéu Alberola Social Center. The Councilor for Equality has invited citizens to participate and maintain their commitment against gender violence throughout the year.
