A total of 1,558 residents of El Campello used the mobile recycling centers during the first six months of the year, a figure that solidifies the municipality's position in recycling.

The president of Consorci Mare, José Ramón González Zárate, visited the mobile recycling center located near the market on Wednesday to congratulate the mayor, Juanjo Berenguer, and the Councilor for the Environment, Marcos Martínez, for the citizens' awareness.
The mayor expressed his conviction that bonuses on the annual waste fee, to be applied from this year, will further incentivize the use of these facilities, as recycling will bring economic benefits to families.
González de Zárate highlighted that during the high tourist season months (June, July, August, and part of September), visits to deposit waste increase by up to 25%, demonstrating that tourists and visitors also participate in recycling and environmental respect.
According to municipal statistics, El Campello will remain among the most environmentally committed municipalities in the province this year. The City Council conducts constant awareness campaigns.
Citizens and tourists actively collaborate in the circular economy, a sustainable production model based on reducing, recycling, and reusing. 99% of users are private individuals, while the remaining 1% are companies and various organizations.
Consorci Mare reports that the most deposited waste includes small electronic and kitchen appliances, alkaline batteries, plastics, metals, textiles, packaging, LED lamps, used cooking oils, toner cartridges, and computer equipment.
Mobile recycling centers also accept aerosols, filters, footwear, tires, video tapes, oils, books, X-rays, batteries, lighters, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, paints, thermometers, cleaning products, chemical containers, wood, bulky items, mobile phones, and expired medications.
These recycling centers collect waste that cannot be placed in the usual bins, which already receive paper, cardboard, packaging, glass, and organic waste. Additionally, there are 8 green points for pruning waste.
