Among Vicent's merits, the Regulatory Council of DOP Alicante highlights the foundation and launch of a unique project: the resident symphony orchestra at the provincial auditorium, ADDA. The quality and achievements of this group have unprecedentedly complemented the province's rich musical tradition, comprising great local bands, composers, and now this ensemble of over 80 professionals who have successfully achieved full houses in their seasons and tours.
Vicent's career has garnered international recognition for his seasons, tours, and recordings. His diverse and powerful style has received nominations for the GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® awards, a double win at the Spanish Music Academy Awards, the Jeunesses Musicales Award, the “City of Valencia” Arts Award, the Oscar Esplà Award, the COPE Radio Culture Award, the MIN Award for best classical album, and the Melómano de Oro Award on five occasions.
The musician joins other musical godfathers recognized by CRDOP Alicante, such as soprano Ana Maria Sánchez, Arkano, and Niño de Elche, as well as other prominent Alicantinians in research, cuisine, sports, acting, and painting.
The 2026 harvest at DOP Alicante has been marked by an early start and rapid maturation of grape varieties, resulting in one of the shortest campaigns. Heat has dictated the calendar and overall quality, although the quantity of grapes harvested is expected to be maintained, around 15 million kilograms, despite droughts and reduced cultivation area in previous campaigns.
The harvest celebration event, including the godfather's appointment, will take place at the Heretat de Cesilia estate in Novelda on September 28th at midday. The event will be attended by authorities and representatives from the agricultural, tourism, and cultural sectors.
