The city of Alicante has seen a notable increase in hotel overnight stays during the first half of the year, reaching 4,107 stays in four and five-star establishments. This boost is largely attributed to two major international film productions: Disney's "Enredados" and "People of the Book", produced by Good Films.
Tourism Councilor Ana Poquet highlighted the positive impact of these shoots on the city, especially following the reactivation of the Ciudad de la Luz and the formalization of collaboration between Tourism Minister Marian Cano and Mayor Luis Barcala.
The stays associated with "Enredados" pertain to its pre-production phase, with filming taking place in various locations across the province during August. Expectations for the latter half of the year are optimistic, supported by the planned filming of this same movie at the Alicante studios.
Furthermore, the pre-production of Good Films' upcoming movie, "American Paradise", set to begin filming in January 2027, will also contribute to maintaining activity. Other projects such as "El Paso Verse – The Visionary" and "¿Y después qué?" are being filmed in Alicante during the summer months, offering advertising value and tourism promotion for the Alicante brand.
The production "¿Y después qué?" also fosters local talent development, collaborating with the Alicante Film School. This center for cinematic and audiovisual training aims to equip new creators and meet the growing demand for technicians following the reopening of the Ciudad de la Luz film studios.
