The supermarket chain Hiperber, founded in Elche, has intensified its expansion in the city of Alicante by launching two new stores in the last four months. These openings are part of its expansion plan, which has resulted in a total of eight new openings during the first half of 2026. With these two new establishments, the brand triples its offering in the Alicante capital, a market that until now only had a single operational store on Escorpión street, in the La Florida neighborhood.
The two new stores, inaugurated in April and May respectively, are located in two of the main urban belts: Gran Vía and Vía Parque. The Gran Vía store, situated at the intersection with Buenos Aires street, replaced another pre-existing supermarket of the Unide brand, which in turn had taken over from Mercadona at the same location. Hiperber invested one million euros in the conversion of the premises, which now has 1,100 square meters, parking for 33 vehicles, and a staff of 19 employees.
The second opening is located on Jaime I avenue, near Teulada street. This new supermarket was created from the renovation of a commercial space that was unused. The chain allocated 1.4 million euros to equip it, providing it with a sales area of 1,399 square meters, its own parking for 34 vehicles, and a staff of 17 employees.
These two inaugurations in Alicante city are added to six others carried out in the first half of the year, as a result of the agreement with Economy Cash for the placement of establishments in municipalities such as Ontinyent, Benaguasil, Carlet, Cullera, Xàtiva, and Dénia. The total investment for these eight openings amounts to 6.6 million euros, according to consulted sources. To this figure, the investment of almost 5 million euros derived from the expansion of the logistics platform in Novelda, inaugurated in March, must be added.
In total, Hiperber has allocated over 11.6 million euros in 2026 to its expansion and logistics reinforcement. The eight openings have added approximately 11,079 square meters of sales area, a 13% increase compared to the 85,000 meters closed in 2025. With this momentum, the company now reaches 97 establishments, with a presence in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, and Valencia.
The chain concluded 2025 with 89 supermarkets, 85,000 square meters of sales area, and 1,443 employees, achieving a turnover of 235.1 million euros. In 2025, it had already opened four establishments in Cocentaina, Cheste, Totana, and Tavernes de la Valldigna.
