The Generalitat has allocated a joint grant of 52,632 euros to the University of Alicante and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche to promote sports among students.

Of this total amount, the University of Alicante will receive 28,461 euros, while the Miguel Hernández University will obtain 24,171 euros. These subsidies are primarily intended to fund expenses related to organizing competitions and the participation of university teams in various sports disciplines.
Both academic institutions will participate in the Regional University Sports Championship of the Comunitat Valenciana during the 2025-2026 season. These grants are part of a 220,000 euro total distribution by the General Directorate of Sports among eight Valencian universities.
The goal of these contributions is to consolidate the regional championship as an academic benchmark and foster coexistence among students. According to the Generalitat, these measures serve to ensure the development of the events and strengthen the role of universities as spaces for promoting health and well-being.
