The Valencian Community faces a very adverse weather situation this Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures potentially exceeding 43°C and an extreme risk of forest fires.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has warned of a “very adverse” situation in the Valencian Community for this Wednesday and Thursday. Persistent westerly winds are expected, which, combined with maximum temperatures that could reach 42 or 43°C in both pre-coastal and coastal areas, significantly increase the risk.
Aemet alerts that, in addition to the health hazard, especially for vulnerable individuals, forest fire danger levels will be extreme. The combination of intense heat, westerly winds, and low humidity, along with extreme dryness of vegetation and soil, favors rapid fire spread.
For this Wednesday, a level orange warning (significant danger) has been activated between 1 PM and 9 PM in the province of Alicante and a large part of Valencia, excluding the northern interior. In these areas, maximum temperatures could climb to 43°C.
The forecast indicates that Wednesday will be the hottest day. Although maximum temperatures will begin to decrease the following day, Thursday, the persistence of westerly winds during the early morning will make it a very warm night as well.
Aemet reminds the public of the importance of staying attentive to updated forecasts and warnings. Furthermore, they emphasize the need to follow the recommendations of the Emergency Department (Conselleria d’Emergències).
This situation follows the first half of August, which has been the warmest since 1950 in the Valencian Community, with an anomaly of +2.8 degrees compared to the historical average, despite a slight drop from July's temperatures.
