The Port of Alicante has consolidated its growth trend during 2026, handling a total of 2,227,489 tons of merchandise by August. This figure represents a 22.98% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when 1,811,311 tons were recorded.
These results highlight the strengthening of the port's commercial and logistics activity, as well as its growing relevance in maritime transport. General cargo has been key, with 1,323,933 tons, up 44.45%. Within this category, container transport has seen a 46.49% growth, reaching 1,211,021 tons.
Container traffic has surpassed 166,000 TEU between January and August, with a 32.28% increase (166,524 TEU compared to 125,890 in 2025). This confirms Alicante as a strategic logistics platform for national and international supply chains.
Foreign trade has been another significant driver, with a 22.24% increase (1,107,084 tons). Exports have grown a notable 38.66% (612,670 tons), while imports have risen by 6.60% (494,414 tons). The port is consolidating itself as an exit point for products to international markets.
Other traffics with positive performance include liquid bulk, which have increased by 78.41% (64,691 tons), and Ro-Ro traffic, with a 35.10% increase (73,734 tons). Vehicle traffic associated with port activity has also grown by 7.96% (49,287 units).
Regarding passenger traffic, 298,788 travelers have been accumulated by August, a slight increase of 0.88%. The cruise sector has been particularly positive, with 191,686 passengers (11.22% more) and 64 calls, matching last year's figures.
In summary, the accumulated data up to August reflects generalized dynamism in the Port of Alicante's main indicators, reinforcing its position as a key logistics hub in the Mediterranean.
