The institution has organized this exhibition to commemorate two key dates in local history. The document certifying the city title dates back to July 26, 1490, while the second anniversary marks the 750th anniversary of the death of Jaume I, which occurred on July 27, 1276.
In the research room, visitors can view the facsimile of the royal privilege alongside other grants, such as the so-called Primitivos Privilegios of Alfonso X the Wise and the codex of privileges of the monarchs of the Crown of Aragon. The original parchments are kept in the archive's facilities.
The exhibition also incorporates an adaptation of the Furs de Jaume I, based on the edition printed in Valencia by Francesc-Joan Pastor in 1547. The original copy of this work is currently held in the Valencia Municipal Archive.
The exhibition will remain open to the public during the two indicated days. Starting Tuesday, the room will return to its regular exhibition on the history of the city and its beaches.
