The initiative will take place on Monday, October 19th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, with an information booth set up in the portals of the General Library at UA. The aim is to provide the university community with accurate and accessible information on breast cancer prevention, self-care, and early detection.
Furthermore, it will highlight existing resources to support individuals diagnosed with cancer and their families. Professionals and representatives from the Spanish Association Against Cancer will offer guidance on available support services.
From the Healthy University initiative, they emphasize the importance of health promotion, which should not be limited to intervening when illness appears but should empower individuals with information and tools for active health management. Early detection, alongside research and support, are crucial in addressing breast cancer.
The campaign, under the slogan “Why is breast cancer age-agnostic?”, seeks to raise awareness within the university community about the need to integrate health care into all life stages, preventing breast cancer awareness from being perceived solely as an issue for older age groups.
This activity is part of the Deputy Vice-Rectorate for a Healthy University's objective to foster a university culture focused on prevention, self-care, and well-being through awareness campaigns, training, and actions developed in collaboration with specialized health and social entities.
