The University of Alicante (UA) hosted a conference this Friday by Ramón Jáuregui, president of the Euroamérica Foundation, on the challenges facing Latin America in relation to the United States and China.

The conference, titled “Latin America Caught Between the US and China: What About Europe?”, is part of the program of the University Institute for Social Studies of Latin America (IUESAL).
The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Cooperation for Development, Rosa María Martínez Espinosa, and the director of IUESAL, Javier Vidal. Martínez Espinosa highlighted Jáuregui's career, "a very interesting profile with a national and international perspective", and described IUESAL as "a world reference in Latin American studies".
During his speech, Ramón Jáuregui analyzed the current "international disorder" and "the role that Europe plays between the bipolarity of the US and China, who see Latin America as a highly desired subcontinent".
