The University of Alicante (UA), together with the Fundación Empresa Universidad de Alicante (FUNDEUN), has celebrated the inauguration of the «Acompaña-T Joven» program. This comprehensive professional guidance and mentoring initiative aims to boost students' career development and talent. During the event, held at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, the UA's new «employability passport» was officially presented.
The inaugural ceremony featured speeches from the UA's Vice-Rector for Students and Employment, Raúl Ruiz Callado; the President of FUNDEUN, Carmen Berbegal Roque; and the Director of FUNDEUN, Rafael Lafont Deniz. Raúl Ruiz Callado highlighted the project's significance in the university's commitment to its students' professional futures, emphasizing that tools like the employability passport and the «Acompaña-T Joven» program view professional integration as a continuous process starting from the classroom.
The Vice-Rector explained that the goal is for students not only to receive excellent academic training but also to discover, leverage, and have their complementary skills, experiences, and initiatives recognized during their university years. This approach, he added, strengthens the path towards quality certification through the ANECA Employability Seal.
Subsequently, Esther Gallego, head of the UA's Employment Promotion and Social Inclusion Service, detailed the features of the employability passport. This tool will allow each student to build and accredit their participation journey through stamps linked to activities and training promoted by the UA Employment Center.
For her part, Nuria Escuin, head of FUNDEUN's Talent and Employment Department, presented the objectives, requirements, and phases of the «Acompaña-T Joven» program, designed to offer personalized support to young university students in their career integration through mentor networks.
The event concluded with an interactive session where mentor professionals and participating students shared their expectations, learnings, and experiences within the program. The project is sponsored by Impulsalicante (Alicante City Council), Ocupa't Alacant, and the University of Alicante, with support from various companies and institutions in the province.
