The Compensation Fund, managed by Ivace+i Energía, provides subsidies for initiatives presented by municipalities included in the Wind Farm Plan, seeking to benefit all localities in the affected zones, not just those where wind farms are located.
Most of these zones, with the exception of zone 8 in the province of Valencia, are located in the Castellón region of Els Ports. In total, 13 wind farms contribute approximately 500 megawatts of renewable energy.
Ivace+i Energía will support projects presented by municipalities such as La Yesa, Calles, Andilla, Sacañet, Todolella, Chelva, Portell de Morella, Cintorres, Palanques, Villores, La Mata, Villafranca del Cid, Zorita del Maestrago, Castellfort, Olocau del Rey, Ares del Maestre, Forcall, Morella, Higueruelas, and Casinos. Two projects from the Mancomunitat Comarcal de Els Ports and the Mancomunidad de la Serranía will also be funded.
The subsidized actions include improvements to municipal infrastructure, water supply and sewage networks, public lighting, paving, adaptation of sports areas, installation of children's play equipment, and restoration of public buildings.
The fund distribution prioritizes municipalities that, despite not having wind farms, possess energy evacuation infrastructure (power lines, substations) or have visibility of the farms. Lastly, municipalities hosting wind farms are considered, as they already receive income from licenses and taxes.
Projects related to renewable energies are also subsidized, including installations and awareness-raising activities such as workshops and courses, as well as initiatives that improve the socioeconomic conditions of the municipalities.
