The Town Council of La Romana will receive a subsidy of nearly €77,000 from the Provincial Council of Alicante to carry out various works on municipal roads during the 2026 fiscal year.

The Governing Board of the Provincial Council of Alicante granted, through a resolution dated July 20, 2026, a series of subsidies aimed at improving the municipality's rural road network. These funds will be used for actions to be executed directly by the Town Council of La Romana.
Under Line A, €5,999.58 is allocated for simple repair and patching of the roads of Canicios, Benesa, Batistes, and Las Peñas. A second allocation within this same line, amounting to €2,499.94, will cover the clearing and margin cleaning of parts of the roads of Canicios, Benesa, and Las Peñas. In both cases, the subsidy covers 100% of the cost.
Line B focuses on improving the pavement through gravel spraying on the Batistes road. For this action, the subsidy amounts to €44,692.86, also with 100% coverage.
Finally, Line C includes the supply of 6 solar luminaires for municipal rural roads. The subsidy granted for this purpose is €6,500.00, covering almost the entire budget of €6,534.00.
