The town of Petrer will be the venue this Thursday, September 24th, at 8:00 PM, for the presentation of "La Mar dins dels ulls", the new poetry collection by Lluís Ferri Silvestre. The event will take place at the town's Forn Cultural.
The work, which won first prize in the 2025 Sea Awards in Castelló, explores the author's relationship with the sea, understood as a vital space that encapsulates landscapes, memory, cultures, history, and myths of the Mediterranean. The verses unfold images of the beauty of its domains, the symphony of the waves and light, presenting the sea as a source of introspection and learning.
Lluís Ferri Silvestre, a speech therapist, psychopedagogue, and teacher, has a long career in poetry since the late seventies. He has participated in numerous literary initiatives and published works such as "Llum de silencis" (1991) and "Nits argentades" (2023), a translation of poems by Paco Mollá.
His commitment to Valencian culture and language has been a constant, complemented by his roles as a literary critic, translator, photographer, and musician. His verses reflect an introspective world, closely linked to his town, his surroundings, and the landscape.
