The town of Petrer is preparing for the XIV edition of its popular Autos Locos, a festive event that combines creativity, ingenuity, and fun. The event will be held on Saturday, September 26th, with a route around the streets of Leopoldo Pardines, the Paseo de la Explanada, and the Jardines Alcalde Vicente Maestre.
Teams interested in participating can register from today, July 31st, until September 4th. The process must be completed exclusively through the website of the organizing association, Kaskaruja ([www.kaskaruja.org](http://www.kaskaruja.org/)). The association's president, Óscar Blasco, indicated that August will be open to facilitate the preparation of the cars and costumes.
The Councilor for Festivals, Alejandro Ruiz, highlighted the importance of Autos Locos within Petrer's festive calendar, calling it an "unavoidable" tradition and an example of associative work to keep the "essence of the municipality" alive. For his part, Blasco emphasized that it is a day of "celebration when people come out onto the streets".
The day will begin at 12:00 PM with the reception and exhibition of the participating vehicles, one of the most anticipated moments for the public to admire the creativity of the designs. After a fellowship lunch at 2:30 PM, the races will start at 5:00 PM with a league format, including direct confrontations to determine qualifiers for the semifinals and the grand final.
From 8:00 PM, the awards ceremony will take place, hosted by DJs WIWI and Kore.Tek. The musical program will continue at 11:00 PM with a performance by the orchestra Dr. JeKill, who also performed in the 2025 edition. Throughout the day, from 12:00 PM, there will be a solidarity bar benefiting Kaskaruja, and between 8:00 PM and 11:30 PM, food trucks will be available.
With fourteen editions, Autos Locos has established itself as one of Petrer's most original and popular activities, combining creativity, spectacle, and fun. The event, which attracts dozens of teams and hundreds of attendees, serves as a prelude to the town's Patron Saint Festivals.
