The San Francisco de Sales neighborhood in Elda now boasts a completely renovated park. This initiative, undertaken by the Department of Public Space and Investments as part of the ‘Elda parte de ti’ plan, involved an investment of 250,000 euros. The project has updated the children's play equipment and paving across approximately 4,000 square meters.
The mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, alongside the Councilor for Public Space and Investments, José Antonio Amat, and the Director of Investments, Raquel Fernández, explained that the focus was on the comprehensive renewal of children's play facilities. Elements showing signs of wear and tear have been replaced, and four distinct play areas, categorized by age and use, have been modernized between Cuba street and Filipinas avenue.
A total of fifteen new play structures have been installed, designed to provide modern, safe, and fun spaces for children. A prominent feature is a large zip line, which is expected to be a major attraction. Furthermore, the park is fully inclusive, incorporating accessible play equipment for children with reduced mobility.
The renovation also included significant improvements to the overall accessibility of the area, updates to urban furniture, and the maintenance of green spaces and tree pits to create a more pleasant environment.
Rubén Alfaro emphasized that this project underscores the progressive government's commitment to reclaiming public space for community interaction, viewing it as a direct investment in quality of life and the future of all neighborhoods.
