The project, promoted by the Department of Public Space and Investments, aims primarily to increase accessibility for people with reduced mobility. To achieve this, sidewalk sections are being widened and necessary curb cuts are being made at corners, ensuring a uniform and safe pavement for pedestrians.
At the same time, milling of the road surface is underway to lay a new layer of asphalt, allowing for smoother and safer vehicle traffic. Additionally, the work includes raising sewer manholes to the new road level, which will facilitate future maintenance tasks on the network.
“"These works allow us to offer a comprehensive improvement in accessibility that is very necessary to make daily life more comfortable for all the neighbors who reside in this area of La Melva."
This action responds to a request made by the Virgen de la Salud Neighborhood Association. According to the municipal official, the goal is to maintain a global vision for the city model that allows improvements to be extended to all neighborhoods in Elda, thereby increasing the quality of life in public spaces.
