The council of Aspe has formalized the submission of allegations to the Generalitat Valenciana within the consultation period for the improvement of the CV-210 Vinalopó Mitjà service. Through these proposals, the local government seeks to transform public transport into an efficient, accessible tool adapted to the real mobility needs of the residents.
The City Council recalls the efforts made jointly with the Conselleria over the past year, which allowed for the restoration of the university student service, lost in 2020. Currently, students have 9 daily services via Line 10 (CE-708), connecting Aspe with the University of Alicante. Building on this, the council now demands further steps to address pending deficiencies.
The increase in students enrolled in Vocational Training cycles in nearby municipalities has highlighted significant travel difficulties for young people who, being minors or lacking their own vehicle, depend exclusively on public transport. Consequently, the City Council has requested the inclusion of new stops at IES La Mola (Aspe-Novelda), in the vicinity of IES Severo Ochoa in Elche (Carrús area), and at IES Melva and IES Torreta for the lines operating in Elda/Petrer. They also propose a university reinforcement by extending Line 8 with an arrival at 6:30 AM and a departure at 3:15 PM, and adjusting the 5:40 PM service to a later time.
Healthcare mobility is the second priority axis. Given the population growth and the recent relocation of the breast cancer screening program from the Elda Public Health Center to the Hospital del Vinalopó, the City Council warns that the current system is insufficient. An extension of Line 6 from Monday to Friday is requested, including a morning service to reach the hospital around 9:00 AM. Furthermore, an expansion of services for Line 6b on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays in the afternoon is urged, as the current service ends at 4:40 PM.
The council is confident that these allegations will be considered by the Generalitat to ensure Aspe citizens have dignified access to their educational and health centers, thereby promoting equal opportunities and improving the quality of life in the municipality.
