The initiative, part of the Programmed Rehabilitation Residential Environments (ERRP) under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan and funded by European Next Generation funds, has a base budget of €821,380.60 (VAT included) and an initial execution period of ten months.
Through this public housing investment, the Aspe council expands its municipal residential stock. The property, formerly housing teachers from the Colegio Perpetuo Socorro, joins other planned interventions on Kennedy and Azorín streets.
The project includes a complete redistribution of spaces. On the ground floor, a commercial unit will become an accessible dwelling, while the other six will be distributed between the first and second floors (three per level), totaling a built area of 723.18 square meters.
Accessibility will be improved with an elevator in the inner courtyard and the removal of the entrance step. Structurally, the staircase's roof structure will be demolished and rebuilt, corroded metal joists repaired, and asbestos cement deposits professionally removed.
A significant portion of the investment will focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, featuring an External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS), high-performance PVC windows, photovoltaic panels for renewable energy generation, aerothermal systems for domestic hot water, and complete renovation of electrical, sanitation, plumbing, and HVAC networks.
These homes are in addition to the 28 currently under construction on Elche Avenue, a project subsidized by the Conselleria with over €1,200,000.
With this action, the Aspe City Council reaffirms its commitment to recovering municipal heritage to guarantee the right to decent and sustainable housing.
