The Valencia Provincial Council has funded a project by the Mancomunidad of Rincón de Ademuz to deploy around thirty surveillance cameras. These devices have been placed at the entrances and exits of all municipalities in the region, as well as on accessible paths and strategic points within each town.
The total investment amounts to approximately 100,000 euros, sourced from the Open Plan, an investment program by the Provincial Council with 565,000 euros allocated to the mancomunidad. Vice President Natàlia Enguix, who coordinates this four-year, 350-million-euro plan, has highlighted the significance of initiatives presented by mancomunidades, which collectively receive 10 million euros to improve regional services and infrastructure.
The president of the Mancomunidad and mayor of Ademuz, Ángel Andrés, has detailed that the 30 cameras will be operational from September, once the remaining installations are completed. He explained that they will serve to monitor traffic at town entrances and key locations such as squares, industrial estates, and sports centers.
Andrés also announced that funds from the Open Plan will support other initiatives in the region, including waste management and the repair of trails connecting the various municipalities. The mayor of Ademuz, who manages 1,140,000 euros from the plan for his municipality, believes this investment program is crucial for small inland towns, emphasizing the four-year outlook that facilitates larger-scale projects.
