From October 17th to 25th, pumpkin will be the star of a week combining gastronomy, tradition, contests, and activities for all audiences in Serra. The event, themed 'Pumpkin: Tradition and Innovation,' aims to champion this local culinary ingredient and will bring together restaurants, shops, and cultural activities.
During these days, local establishments will offer special gastronomic proposals featuring pumpkin as the main ingredient. A total of twelve businesses, including bars, restaurants, a takeaway food service, a bakery, and a butcher shop, are participating in this initiative. Among the participants are restaurants La Garrofera, Descanso, San Antonio, brewery Portacoeli, Bar Jubilats, Nou Mosset, Nou Week-end, Restaurant Casa Granero, takeaway service La Cartoixa, bakery San Joaquín, and Carns Aliaga.
The program includes two highlight events focused on pumpkin stew contests. On Monday, October 19th, the 6th Professional Pumpkin Stew Contest Vicente Granero Vila de Serra will take place, featuring twelve participating restaurants. Subsequently, on October 24th, the 5th Popular Pumpkin Stew Contest will be held, open to culinary enthusiasts.
The October 24th schedule will conclude with a gastronomic evening. This event will feature tastings by participating businesses, a pumpkin decorating contest, a storytelling session for children, and a musical performance, in a proposal designed to blend gastronomy, culture, and fun.
The mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón, emphasized that 'these gastronomic days are a consolidated event that highlights local produce and reinforces our cultural and culinary identity. At the same time, they represent an opportunity to boost local commerce and restaurants and attract visitors who want to discover Serra through its gastronomy'.
With this new edition, Serra continues to focus on combining the recovery of traditional cuisine with gastronomic creativity, supporting local businesses and inviting residents and visitors to discover the municipality's flavors.
