The 'Alcalde de Barri' initiative, part of the municipal program 'Barri a barri', begins its new phase this Monday. The objective is for the mayor, Salva Torrent, to visit various areas of the municipality to learn firsthand about the needs, proposals, and ideas of the residents.
The meetings are scheduled for 6:30 PM. The event calendar starts in areas such as Entrevies, Montepilar, Pinaeta del Cel, Barri de l’Estació, Montealegre, and Torre del Virrei. The encounters will continue on Wednesday, October 7th, in Almassera; on the 13th in Taules, El Carmen, and Vistahermosa; on the 14th in Bonavista and Hendaya; on the 15th in El Valle and Escorial; on the 20th in Montesol; on the 21st in Entrepins; and finally, on Thursday, October 22nd, it will conclude in the urban center.
This second phase of the program emphasizes participation and proximity, bringing active listening and municipal management directly to each neighborhood. The goal is to understand residents' demands to work together on improvements.
The start of 'Alcalde de Barri' coincides with the final stretch of the first phase of 'Barri a barri'. Since September, this initiative has already visited Almassera, Entrevies, El Valle, Taules, El Carmen, Vistahermosa, Bonavista, Hendaya, Montesol, and Entrepins, offering concerts, sports and children's activities, and spaces for citizen participation.
There is still one last activity from the first phase: it will take place this Friday, at 11:00 AM, in the Parque de la Pinada, located in Plaça d’Europa, prior to the traditional 9th of October Ciclopaseo (bike ride).
Through these two lines of action, 'Barri a barri' continues its objective of bringing the City Council closer to the different areas of l'Eliana, fostering coexistence, participation, and direct contact with citizens.
