The Camp de Túria Mancomunitat has presented in L'Eliana the poster for Mental Health Day, which will be celebrated on October 23rd with public activities to advocate for the importance of mental well-being.

L'Eliana will be the host this year, on October 23rd, for World Mental Health Day, a reivindicative and festive event organized for the sixth consecutive year by the Camp de Túria Mancomunitat through its Mental Health Rehabilitation and Insertion Program (PRISMA). The event, which will take place at the Passeig Secondo Baldin in Parc de la Pinada, aims to highlight the importance of mental health care and invites the entire population to participate in the various free activities scheduled.
The technical team is already working on the preparations together with the L'Eliana City Council. More than a hundred people have already shown their interest in participating. Entities interested in being part of this festive and reivindicative day can register through an online form, and for any questions, the email address s.mental@mancomunitatcampdeturia.es has been provided.
The theme chosen this year by the Spanish Mental Health Confederation is “'Make match with your mental health'”, maintaining the focus on ‘Mental Health and Youth’. This line of work continues the work developed in the XXIII SPAIN MENTAL HEALTH Congress, organized together with the Mental Health Federation of the Canary Islands under the theme ‘Youth with mental health, future with hope’. The objective is to promote the psychosocial well-being of young people, who are particularly affected at present.
According to WHO data, one in seven young people between 10 and 19 years old suffers from a mental health disorder. The INE, for its part, registers a notable increase in suicidal behaviors in minors under 15 years of age during the first year of the pandemic.
PRISMA is a resource of the Camp de Túria Mancomunitat aimed at people with chronic mental health problems from the 17 municipalities in the region. In addition to the annual activities, World Mental Health Day, commemorated on October 10th, is a key date to raise awareness about the need to care for mental health by affected individuals, their families, and society as a whole.
From now on, the municipalities with PRISMA headquarters (Riba-roja de Túria, Vilamarxant, Bétera, La Pobla de Vallbona, and Marines) will also disseminate the poster and information about the event.
