The urbanization works for the new residential area next to the El Osito shopping center in l’Eliana are approximately 90% complete and are expected to finish during the last quarter of this year. The electrical connection and gardening work remain to be completed. Once these tasks are finished, building permits for the new homes can be processed.
The project, with a private investment of around 3.7 million euros, will provide this area with streets, services, and public spaces necessary for the future construction of nearly 430 new homes. Of these, 60% will be Subsidized Housing (VPO). The plan also includes the creation of gardens, green spaces, a cycle lane, signage, and urban furniture, as well as reserving space for the future expansion of the institute.
“"Increasing the supply of VPO is fundamental so that more people can stay living here and access housing at a more affordable price."
The mayor, Salva Torrent, highlighted that this development will significantly expand the residential area and, particularly, the supply of subsidized housing in l’Eliana. He emphasized the importance of this measure at a time when accessing housing is difficult for many families, especially young people.
