The municipality of L'Eliana will become, from September 11th to 19th, a meeting point for audiovisual enthusiasts with the celebration of the tenth edition of the L'Eliana Cinema Festival. The event will feature screenings, training activities, professional encounters, proposals for children, and the traditional 72 Hores short film competition.
For three days, participating teams will write and shoot their short films in various locations around L'Eliana, transforming the town into a large cinematic stage. The program will kick off with the official inauguration, the drawing of locations, and an outdoor cinema session with silent films accompanied by pianist José Alberto Medina.
On Saturday the 12th, the children's workshop ‘Bring Images to Life!’ will take place, where participants will discover the principles of animation through play. On Tuesday the 15th, the short film ‘De Sucre’, by Clàudia Cedó, will be screened, with its creators in attendance for a subsequent discussion. This short film tells the story of María, a 30-year-old woman with an intellectual disability and a strong desire to become a mother.
On Friday the 18th, the Auditorium will host the screening of all short films made during the 72 Hores challenge, followed by audience voting. That same night, the Sala Fantàstic will host the grand cinema party.
The tenth edition will culminate on Saturday the 19th with the closing gala and awards ceremony, where the winning short films will be announced and a tribute will be paid to actor Fernando Tejero. This edition will also maintain Cinema a l’Escola, a section that continues to bring audiovisual language closer to new generations.
The mayor, Salva Torrent, has emphasized that the festival solidifies a decade dedicated to promoting film culture and audiovisual talent, combining exhibition, creation, training, and citizen participation, and further strengthening the town's relationship with cinema.
