Generalitat Approves Phase 1 of Vilamarxant Ring Road

The 13.6 million euro investment aims to improve safety and functionality of the CV-50's passage through the municipality.

The Generalitat has given the green light to the first phase of the construction of the West Ring Road of Vilamarxant, a highly anticipated project to solve the safety and congestion issues caused by the passage of the CV-50 through the urban center.

This decision, published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV), marks a step forward for a long-standing demand in the municipality, which included a neighborhood petition supported by the mayor, Héctor Troyano. The total planned investment for this work amounts to 13.6 million euros for this initial stage.
The need to redesign part of the project, especially the structure over the Teulada ravine following the 2024 storm (dana), has led to the division of the overall action, with an estimated total cost of 23 million euros, into two phases to expedite its implementation.
Currently, Vilamarxant suffers from intense traffic on two roads: the CV-50, part of the regional network, and the CV-370, managed by the Provincial Council of Valencia. Both cross the urban area, causing congestion, safety, and environmental problems due to noise and air pollution. The CV-50 registers over 11,600 daily vehicles, including around 350 trucks.
The initial phase proposes a ring road north of the town, connecting the CV-370 and the CV-50. This priority section will feature two lanes per direction, shoulders, a landscaped median, and a protected cycle-pedestrian lane. The design speed will be 60 km/h on the main axis and 40 km/h on the intersection ramps.
Additionally, connection roundabouts, service roads, drainage systems, lighting, and complete signage are included. Replacements for services and measures for landscape integration and environmental protection are also planned.
