The Valencia Interior Consortium (CVI) will present 32 diplomas to educational centers that participated during the 2025-2026 academic year in the 'Aula Composta' program. This school composting project, developed in the consortium's municipalities, rewards good biorresidue management practices and commitment to sustainability.
The 'Aula Composta' program introduces composting to educational centers with the aim of transforming daily food scraps into quality fertilizer. The initiative involves the entire educational community, including students, teaching staff, and school canteen personnel, ensuring active participation in the process.
During the training sessions, the CVI's Environmental Education team explains which waste can be deposited in organic matter bins and how to manage it to obtain quality compost. This way, students not only learn about waste management concepts but also practically observe how organic waste can become a new resource.
In addition to initial training, the program offers ongoing monitoring and support. The CVI conducts visits to the composters to verify the correct development of the process, analyzing key aspects such as moisture, temperature, oxygenation, and the presence of living organisms.
