The Neighborhood Association of Almardà, Corinto, and Malvarrosa beaches, on the northern coast of Sagunto, denounces that the Ministry for Ecological Transition (Miteco) has failed to fulfill its commitment to restore public services affected by the beach regeneration works. These elements include foot showers, walkways, and signage, which the project itself stipulated would be replaced.
According to the entity, the regeneration of these areas cannot be considered complete until Miteco finishes restoring the affected public facilities, financed by Next Generation funds from the European Union.
The association's statement indicates that the Councilor for Beaches of Sagunto, Roberto Rovira, reported that the Generalitat still needs to draft a project and obtain authorization from the Demarcation of Coasts for the new channeling of the Malvarrosa foot showers, making their use impossible during the summer.
The association believes this explanation distracts from the real problem, as the construction project had already expressly identified the services likely to be affected, including walkways, foot showers, bins, a children's play area, signage, and watchtowers.
Furthermore, they highlight the lack of replacement for the nudist beach signage, causing confusion among users due to the absence of clear delimitation of the area.
The entity recalls that the Demarcation of Coasts had publicly confirmed to the mayors of Sagunto and Canet d'en Berenguer, Councilor Roberto Rovira, and the responsible technicians, that everything affected would be restored.
Therefore, they demand that the Ministry assume its responsibility and complete the work, and urge the Sagunto City Council to defend the interests of the residents and demand the immediate restoration of the affected services.
