An elderly person, a resident of a care home, showed symptoms of drowning while bathing in the jacuzzi of the Quartell municipal complex. The swift action of a lifeguard led to their rescue.
Emergency services initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers and subsequently transferred the individual to Sagunto hospital for treatment of the cause of the stop and to monitor for potential complications. Medical staff from the Quartell auxiliary health center, SAMU, and the basic life support unit (SVB) participated in the care.
The incident led to the temporary closure of the municipal pool between 12 PM and 2 PM. The local council has expressed gratitude for the coordination between the lifeguarding staff and health services.
