The patron saint festivities of Port de Sagunt saw the maritime cucañas as a highlight, drawing a large crowd to the fishing harbor. From early morning, attendees enjoyed a swimming race and the challenging greased pole test, where participants attempt to grab a flag at the end of a slippery pole.
This year, the event incorporated several new features thanks to support from a new sponsor. Among the additions are the presence of speaker Papi Gavi, a well-known content creator, and the collaboration of Javi Teruel. A new prize and a dance were also included to liven up the day.
“"It was impressive. It's been so many years since we've seen so many people!"
Manel Rubio, president of the Federation of Peñas, expressed his satisfaction with the high participation, noting that "it's been so many years since we've seen so many people." The Federation, co-organizing the event with the city council for the second consecutive year, has already confirmed its continuation next year.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of numerous inflatables and balls to attendees waiting in the water. The festivities thus returned to the heart of the fishing harbor, which has evolved from the traditional release of live ducks to a shower of objects for fun on land, sea, or in the pool, sometimes including cash prizes.
