Elche's Nit de l’Albà for 2026 increases its cost by 12% to 193,538 euros, allocating more gunpowder and new launch points for greater spectacularity.

The Nit de l’Albà in Elche, awarded to Pirotecnia Ferrández for 193,538 euros, will experience a 12% cost increase for 2026. This rise is due to the higher prices of gunpowder and the decision to increase the amount of pyrotechnic material used.
This year, 2,900 kilos of gunpowder will be fired, exceeding the 2,700 from the previous year. These quantities will be divided between the traditional fireworks display and the palm trees, sponsored by the City Council, individuals, and companies as a tribute to the patron saint or in memory of the deceased. The local executive of PP and Vox has been increasing the budget for this night, which in 2025 already launched 86,000 rockets, 24,000 more than in 2024.
The festivity will feature a new firing zone at the Paseo de Jaca, near the Hort del Xocolater, and the launch points will be expanded from various locations in the city, including the Puente de Altamira. Color effects will be introduced at the latter point, aiming to offer greater spectacularity to the Elche night.
In addition to the official fireworks, thousands of Elche residents will accompany the Nit with their own pyrotechnic devices. According to municipal data, in 2025, citizen spending on pyrotechnics was around 600,000 euros, generating an economic boost of over 800,000 euros for the city.
The night will culminate with the Virgen palm tree, handcrafted over three months by Pirotecnia Ferrández. This palm tree, considered the world's largest of its style, aims to remain suspended in the sky for 20 to 22 seconds. The traditional white rockets reach 300 meters in height and create a palm tree 500 meters in diameter. To conclude, the night will include the grand carretillà at the Hort del Monjo.
