The entity, which acted as a collaborator in this procedure, highlighted the heavy workload assumed during the two and a half months the period remained open. Given the high demand, which exhausted official appointments in just a few days, the organization set up a parallel service to review documentation and guide applicants before referring them to the competent bodies.
To carry out this task, a team of eight people was formed to work daily on document review. According to the foundation, this methodology allowed for the delivery of vulnerability certificates at the time of service, avoiding delays detected in other processing channels.
Regarding the origin of the people served, the majority of the files corresponded to citizens from Colombia, followed by people from Morocco, Argentina, Algeria, and Peru. 80% of the cases managed by the foundation belonged to residents in the municipality of Elche.
The entity noted that although the submission deadline ended on June 30th, they will continue to follow up on the files and respond to any requirements that the Ministry may raise. The ultimate goal of this regularization is to facilitate access to basic rights and improve the social and labor integration of those already residing in the country.
