The Councilor for Cooperation, Celia Lastra, has inaugurated the exhibition ‘The Limits of War’ Peace, International Humanitarian Law and Conflicts, organized by the Red Cross Elche. The exhibition will be available at the Congress Center from September 3rd to the 10th, coinciding with the anniversary of the Elche entity.
Celia Lastra highlighted the exhibition's focus on war and armed conflicts, emphasizing the importance of international law. This initiative is part of the Cycle of Colloquia for International Development Cooperation, centered on International Humanitarian Law and Peace Education.
On September 10th, the Congress Center auditorium will host a talk-colloquium starting at 6:00 PM with specialized speakers who will share their knowledge and experiences.
The exhibition, through 21 panels, showcases the 15 existing armed conflicts worldwide, illustrating their causes and effects, forced displacements, deprivation of basic services, food crises, the law of war, and the protection of children, women, and minority groups.
For his part, the president of the Local Assembly of the Red Cross Elche, Antonio Ramón Guilabert, pointed out that the exhibition is crucial for people to become aware of the global reality, indicating that there are currently around 35 active wars affecting thousands of people, and highlighting the collaboration of many individuals fighting against these problems.
