The funds, co-financed by the European Union, will allow for the development of various strategic actions in the municipality. According to the council, the main objective is to improve the quality of public services through technological innovation and environmental sustainability.
A significant part of the investment, totaling 260,000 euros, will be used to acquire four electric vehicles to renew the municipal fleet. This measure aims to reduce the environmental impact of local public transport by opting for fully electric and hybrid units.
On the other hand, the Vive Elche project will receive nearly 400,000 euros to implement an intelligent mobility management system. This initiative includes expanding the network of cameras and sensors to monitor traffic in real-time, as well as improving the management of park-and-ride facilities through information panels.
Finally, 72,500 euros have been allocated to transform the Altabix study room into a smart space. The program, part of Territorios Innovadores, includes the incorporation of new technological resources and areas adapted for collaborative work, with the intention of extending this model to other municipal facilities in the future.
