The Elche City Council has invested a total of 4.5 million euros in asphalt paving works for roads, streets, and paths throughout the municipality since the start of the legislative term, with a particular focus on its districts. This initiative underscores the municipal government's commitment to maintaining and improving public spaces, both in the urban center and across the entire Camp d’Elx region.
The Councilor for Districts, Pedro José Sáez, visited the ongoing works this Friday on the road from Monforte del Cid to Santa Pola, in Perleta. The project includes paving a section of over 1,000 meters in length, a long-standing request from local residents.
This intervention marks the end of the current asphalt paving contract, which exceeded one million euros for 2025 and covered numerous roads and streets. A new contract with a similar investment, also exceeding one million euros, will commence shortly.

In recent months, the paving plan in the districts has concentrated on roads such as the Camí Vell de Santa Pola, the Ràpita, the Vereda de Dolores a Alicante, the road of Vessant del Platero, Molar, or Purgatori. According to the councilor, many of these roads required municipal intervention after years of neglect.
