The Crevillent City Council has voiced its strong condemnation of the assault perpetrated by a group of youths against a municipal caretaker. The incident occurred last night while the worker was carrying out his duties at a local sports facility.
The municipal corporation wishes to convey its full support to the affected worker and his immediate circle. Furthermore, it has unequivocally condemned any form of violent or intimidating behavior directed towards public employees who dedicate their efforts to serving the community.
The Council deeply regrets that such uncivil conduct occurs in a space dedicated to sports, an environment where fundamental values such as respect, coexistence, camaraderie, effort, and fair play should prevail.
The Crevillent Local Police, along with the Civil Guard, are actively gathering information and undertaking the necessary actions to fully clarify the events. The objective is to prosecute and eradicate these unacceptable behaviors.
As a preventive measure, a temporary closure of bookings at the football fields has been announced until September 13th, or until the events are fully clarified. Additionally, it is recalled that the regulations for the use of sports facilities were previously reinforced to combat uncivil and vandalistic acts.
The Crevillent City Council reiterates its unwavering commitment to the safety and respect of both users of municipal facilities and the workers who provide services there. It is emphasized that no disagreement, conflict, or circumstance can justify an assault.
